My Quilting Anniversary! With a GIVEWAWAY!

Okay, it's a few days late, but June 18th marks my quilting anniversary!  Let's take a quick trip down memory lane to see what my very first quilted project was...

This super-groovy clutch!  Wow, my seams don't match up the slightest bit, but who cares?  It's random enough that it isn't all that noticeable from afar.

I think I've come along quite a way, don't you?  Anyhow, I'll keep this one short and sweet.  I wanted to do something cool to celebrate, and my husband says I have way too many projects going on at the same time, so I'm giving away a bundle of fabrics from my stash:

One randomly selected commenter will win my personal fat quarter bundle of Luminescence fabric made by Connecting Threads!  When this line first came out, I was immediately smitten by the way the light seems to shine right through the fabric.  It helps, of course, that it features my favorite color, purple.  So, wanna win?  Just leave me a comment below.

This giveaway is now closed.  Thank you to all who entered and left such nice comments!

Disclaimer:  One lucky winner will receive 14 random fat quarters of fabric from the Luminescence collection. This giveaway is not sponsored or endorsed by Connecting Threads.

Thanks so much for reading, and Happy Q-niversary to me!  Until next time, God Bless.

  7. I love your clutch, especially the wild colors. My only quilt project I ever did was back in 1975 when I made a bed quilt for my boyfriend. He must have liked it, he married me and kept the quilt. We still use it in our camper. Now that I am retired I am getting back into sewing. The machines certainly have improved!

  8. I just purchased a Singer 9960 Quantum for no reason. I've never sewn so much as a button on shirt, but something possessed me and I bought this machine. I love looking at it, and thinking, what will I do with this beautiful machine? After finding your blog, I think I know, but first, I must master Threading 101!

  48. Beautiful! Love the clutch, very brave for a first project. Mine was a small lap quilt for my mom.
If I were to get this bundle I would put it to use making small quilts to donate to the Riley Hospital for Kids Burn unit. My grandson and I were burned in an accident a year ago. They took such good care of him we are trying to give back. My 9960 makes it much easier! 💜

  53. Happy Q-niversary! It's amazing that the beautiful clutch was your first project. I could not have made something like that when I started. My first quilting project was a quilt made of corduroy squares cut from old clothes (I have five brothers and sisters so we wore out a lot of corduroy.) I backed the quilt with a bedsheet and tied it with yarn. Forty years later I still have it, although it's being used by my dogs rather than me. :) I rarely cut up clothes anymore. I am grateful for wonderful fabrics that we have today. Thanks so much for the chance to win this beautiful bundle. Purple is my daughter's favorite color, and I would use these in a quilt for her.
